The world radio communication conference allocates more than 24 gigahertz (GHz) for imt-2020 (5g) and allows BRICs countries to use the 4.8ghz-4.99ghz frequency band in a unified way, the Russian Ministry of communication said on November 28. The above frequency band is smaller than the 3.4ghz-3.8ghz load of 5g frequency band most commonly used in Russia.

According to the Russian satellite news agency website on November 26, the 4.8ghz-4.99ghz consistent frequency band is conducive to the establishment of imt-2020 network as soon as possible.

"In Russia, the government system load in this frequency band is the smallest, saving spectrum conversion for 5g applications," the Russian Ministry of Communications said

Russia's Ministry of communication pointed out that in 2019, the world radio communication conference will allocate 24.25ghz-27.5ghz, 37ghz-43.5ghz and 66ghz-77ghz frequency bands to 5g.

At present, several mainstream communication operators in Russia are testing 5g in other bands of 25.25ghz-27.5ghz and 4.9ghz, but they said that these bands can only be used as a supplement to the main band of 3.4ghz-3.8ghz, the report said. In the first half of 2020, 5g band of 25.25ghz-27.5ghz will be auctioned, according to an official of the Russian Ministry of communications.

In addition, according to Xinhua news agency, due to the possible conflict between 5g part of the frequency band signal and meteorological satellite signal, representatives from ITU, WMO and other aspects discussed the signal noise standard at the world radio communication conference 2019 in the near future, and said that relevant agencies would continue to monitor the impact of 5g network signal on weather forecast.

According to a recent report on the website of Nature magazine, 5g communication in the world currently uses multiple frequency bands, including those near 24 gigahertz (GHz), while meteorological satellites also use signals of similar frequency bands to detect the water vapor content in the atmosphere. If the satellite mistook 5g signal for water vapor signal, it will damage the accuracy of weather forecast. Some parties try to solve this problem by controlling the noise of 5g signal.
