Netease technology news on May 27, according to foreign media reports, the negotiation between Amazon and zoox has entered a substantive stage with regard to the acquisition of auto driving start-up company zoox.    

If the acquisition is successful, Amazon Co will expand its influence in the technology of autopilot. Zoox received a round of financing in 2018, when it was valued at $3.2 billion. But according to people familiar with the deal, zoox will be valued at less than $3.2 billion.

The report also said a deal could be reached in a few weeks, but talks could also break down.

Amazon has increased its investment in the auto industry. Aurora Innovation, an autopilot start-up company, has received $530 million in financing early last year, and Amazon is one of the investors of this start-up. Amazon bought Kiva systems, a warehouse robot manufacturer, for $775 million in 2012, and has invested tens of thousands of robots in warehouses around the world.
